Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

League of Thinkers is operated by Council of Thinkers Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). We operate the websites leagueofthinkers.com and councilofthinkers.com.

2. What data we collect

Account data — When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google, LinkedIn, or other OAuth providers, we receive your name, email, and profile image as supplied by that provider.
Profile data — Any information you voluntarily add to your public profile: username, headline, biography, location, website, social links, and avatar URL.
Usage data — Council sessions you initiate, reviews you publish, and topics you submit. This data is associated with your account.
Payment data — Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store card numbers. We store your Stripe Customer ID to manage your subscription.
Technical data — Standard server logs including IP address and user-agent, retained for up to 30 days. We use Cloudflare for infrastructure; their privacy policy applies to network-level data.

3. How we use your data

  • ·To provide and operate the platform (authentication, session history, profiles)
  • ·To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
  • ·To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
  • ·To generate AI analysis reports based on topics you submit
  • ·To improve the platform by analysing usage patterns in aggregate

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. AI-generated content

Topics you submit to the Council are sent to AI model providers via OpenRouter. These providers include Google, Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Meta, DeepSeek, and Alibaba. Your topic text may be processed by their APIs subject to their respective data handling policies. We do not send personal account information (name, email, profile) to AI providers.

All AI-generated analysis is labelled as such and should be independently verified. See our Terms of Use for the disclaimer.

5. Data sharing

We share data only with the following categories of third party:

  • ·Cloudflare — infrastructure, CDN, and database (Cloudflare D1/KV/R2)
  • ·Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
  • ·OpenRouter — AI model API routing
  • ·Resend — transactional email delivery
  • ·OAuth providers (Google, LinkedIn, etc.) — only when you choose to sign in with them

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days. Public reviews and contributions may be anonymised and retained for research integrity purposes.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR and applicable data protection law, you have the right to:

  • ·Access a copy of your personal data
  • ·Correct inaccurate data
  • ·Delete your account and associated data
  • ·Object to processing or request restriction
  • ·Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@leagueofthinkers.com. You may also delete your account directly from Account Settings.

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies. Cloudflare may set its own cookies for security and performance purposes.

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will be notified by email to active members.
